As human beings, our fight to become the “best fit” of our community seems never ending. The pressure of fitting in the society brings about issues on body image, constant mocking from everyone, peer pressure & eventually depression. Even a small comment regarding us seems like a dagger through one’s heart.
As an adolescent, Simran went through every bit of such struggle. The fight to “fit in” in a world full of prejudice took a toll on her physical and mental health – leading her to conform to this societal pressure. She tried her hands on things that could make her a significant part of an insignificant world. From being a CA finalist to a CFA Level II candidate, to landing a job in a Finance & Tally Balance Sheet management firm, she tried everything before realizing that this was just not her cup of tea.
Puzzled and frustrated by the fact that there was no substantial fallback plan after leaving all this, she walked into a gym as a means of venting out her anger and to find a way out of depression and isolation without realizing that this was going to provide her a different motive in life. Thus, beginning her journey into the world of Fitness & Health Consultancy.
From that very point, she only looked back to gauge her own progress and her brand Butt Like An Apricot. For over 4 years now, Simran has been working to grow ‘Butt Like An Apricot’ into a household name in the country. The road for her is not easy, but where’s the fun if the journey is not bumpy! Smooth seas never made skilled sailors.
With the means of a balanced and nutritious diet, Simran and her team of young, motivated and fitness-oriented individuals aim to bring a shift in the mindset of people by clearing all the misconceptions regarding the word “Diet”. BLAP’s concept regarding a meal-plan is simple: “It isn’t just a Diet, It’s a Lifestyle!”
